At the Laguna Day Worker Center, volunteers help connect neighbors with fair, local work while strengthening a broader community support network. In addition to matching workers with jobs, we coordinate grocery deliveries and rental assistance outreach for workers and their families facing economic hardship. Teach ESL at La Playa
Volunteer for adult education classes in Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano, and Lake Forest
English as a Second Language (ESL) learners hail from a broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds and language proficiencies. At La Playa, volunteer instructors are our backbone, creating a community of support, care, and empowerment for our students. Through our adult ESL classes in both Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano, and Lake Forest students hone essential linguistic skills pivotal for their personal and professional endeavors. Mastery of English can enhance job performance, bolster workplace success, fortify social ties, and better experiences in healthcare, legal services, and childcare, to name just a few aspects of daily life.
Interested in becoming a teacher at La Playa? Rest assured, no prior teaching experience is required. We've got you covered with orientation, comprehensive training manuals, structured daily lesson plans, and a supportive faculty to guide you. Our goal is to ensure both you and your students have a rewarding journey.
Teaching at La Playa is a flexible commitment. We build rotating rosters of teachers so that each volunteer teaches approximately once a month. This ensures a manageable schedule while maintaining continuity and engagement for our students.
